Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove harmful substances without using various types of waste gas treatment apparatuses. SOLUTION: Active coke in a finely powdered state and bearing ammonia is blown to a combustion gas cooled to a prescribed temperature range in a gas cooling tower 1 to decompose NOx in the combustion gas by a reaction with ammonia and, at the same time to adsorb harmful substances of such as acidic compounds such as HCl and SOx, heavy metals, dioxins, and the like and together with fly ash, the resultant coke is separated by a bag filter 2. All of the harmful substances which are objects of restriction regulation are simultaneously removed by the bag filter 2.
