PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable seedling boxes to be efficiently recovered by lifting up several pieces of laterally arranged seedling boxes and transferring backward and re-transferring after laterally transferring the seedling boxes. SOLUTION: This seedling box recovering machine is composed of a supporting frame fitted on a running machine body 9, a rear part of a carrying frame supported at a front part of the supporting frame in vertically swingable state, a tilting mechanism 7 making the carrying frame raise from a front-down attitude to an about horizontal attitude provided on the supporting frame, a longitudinal carrying means loading several pieces seedling boxes N in a laterally arranged state and carrying to backward on the carrying frame, a laterally carrying means laterally carrying seedling boxes N in one side of the longitudinal carrying means to a position of seedling boxes N in the other side on the carrying frame, a box taking up mechanism 8 disposed at a front side of the longitudinal carrying means and taking up the seedling box on the ground in every one row and transferring to the longitudinal carrying means and a box delivering means 10 receiving a seedling box N from the longitudinal carrying means in rear of the carrying frame.
