Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of correcting positional deviation with higher accuracy while restraining the labor of an operator as small as possible. SOLUTION: When a variable N(copy counting) attains 1,000(sheets) ('Y' at S1), a 1st resist pattern is formed on the surface of a transfer belt so as to calculate the positional deviation 1 (S10 to S12). After forming a 2nd resist pattern on a recording sheet, the recording sheet is set on an original glass plate and read so as to calculate the positional deviation 2 (S13 to S16). After a difference between the obtained positional deviation 1 and 2 is calculated as correction data and stored in an EEPROM, the variable N is reset (S17 to S19). When the variable N does not attain 1,000 ('N' at S1), the positional deviation 1 is calculated (step S20 to S22), it is corrected based on the correction data so as to calculate the positional deviation 1', and then the variable N is incremented by 1 (S23 and S24). An image writing position is corrected based on the positional deviation 1' thus obtained (S25).
