Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily specify an event position based on the measurement of both the ends of an optical fiber, and accurately and easily measure characteristics such as a loss. SOLUTION: A laid optical fiber has a plurality of connection points, and measured data A and B are measured at one end side and the other. An analysis means 3 analyzes and processes the position and loss of the connection points according to the measured data A and B. An event detection means 6 detects the distance position of each connection point based on the measured waveform of the measured data A and B. A reverse means 7 reverses the distance axis of the measured data B. A tolerance-setting means 11 sets a composite tolerance to each connection point of the measured data A. An event composition means 10 judges that the connection point is the same when the connection point of the measured data B being reversed by the reverse means 7 is positioned within the composite tolerance being set to each connection point of the measured data A, and synthesizes the waveform. A loss calculation means 13 calculates the loss in each connection point according to the synthesized waveform.
