Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend an opening time of a page by setting the shortest limit to the period when each page is opened as it is after first access using PRECHARGE DELAY TIME and resetting this limit when the same page is accessed. SOLUTION: A SDRAM controller 402 keeps a page opening as it is in a period prescribed by a programmable register, that is, during PRECHARGE DELAY TIME, and when a page opened in this period is accessed, the maximum PRECHARGE DELAY TIME value is loaded again on a timer keeping always this period and the period is extended. When this PRECHARGE DELAY TIME is made TIME OUT, it is predicted that succeeding access is the one for the other page. When an opened page exists, a finite state machine 406 discriminates whether the present access is the one for this opened page or not.
