Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify constitution and to improve handleability by automatically operating a water suction pump at the time of preparing the utilization of water in a bathtub such as putting the water suction part of the water suction pump into the bathtub in a washing machine capable of utilizing the water in the bathtub e.g. other than city water. SOLUTION: This washing machine is provided with a water feeding valve 11 feeding water into a water receiving tank and a water suction pump 12 provided with a water detection sensor 25 detecting the presence/absence of the water and feeding the water into the water receiving tank. The operation of the valve 11 and that of the pump 12 are controlled by a control means 27 to successively control a series of the processes of washing, rinsing and dehydrating. The means 27 is made to supply the water into the water receiving tank by the pump 12 if the sensor 25 detects the presence of the water in feeding the water.
