Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas combustor and a method for preventing the fault cutoff of gas, which is able to prevent the fault cutoff caused by a gas meter after a long-term continuous use of the gas combustor. SOLUTION: A heat source unit 10 is connected and arranged at a downstream side of a gas meter 20 which has a safety function for shutting off a gas flow path in the case where abnormality is judged as occurring at the time when a gas flow is continued substantially at a given level over a given safety continuation period of time. The heat source unit 10 comprises a hot-water heat exchanger 11, a system controller 12 and a proportional valve 19 provided at a gas tube 18. The system controller 12 changes the opening of the proportional valve 19 to forcibly alter a gas combustion amount when the hot- water heat exchanger 11 has continuously combusted while keeping substantially a given combustion amount until the arrival of time for given forcible alteration. In this way, it is possible to avoid the situation where a long-term continuous use is erroneously regarded as abnormal by the gas meter 20 and thus gas is cut off. |
