Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize and lighten a double row tapered roller bearing device while securing performance of durability, transmission efficiency, etc. SOLUTION: A pinion shaft 2 on an end part of which a pinion gear 4 is fixed is supported by a pair of tapered roller bearings 3a, 3b. A contact angle αof the tapered roller bearing 3b on the opposite side of the pinion gear 4 is made larger by more than five degrees than a contact angle β of the tapered roller bearing 3a to the pinion gear 4. Radial rigidity of the tapered roller bearing 3a receiving a large radial load applied from the pinion gear 4 to be engaged with a ring gear 5 improves. Additionally it is possible to restrain unbalance quantity of an axial load generated in both of the tapered roller bearings 3a, 3b small.
