Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst for polymrization capable of exhibiting high polymerization activity in polymerization of olefin by using a non-metallocene complex capable of relatively readily synthesizing and isolating and provide a method for efficiently producing an olefin homopolymer or copolymer in the presence of the above catalyst. SOLUTION: This catalyst for olefin polymerization is obtained by using a transition metal compound represented by the general formula T is a 1-20C divalent co-crosslinking group or a divalent group represented by -O-, -S-, -S-S-, -S(=O)-, -S(=O)2 -, -C(=O)-, -N(R )-, -P(R ) or -P(=O) (R )- [R represents hydrogen atom or 1-24C hydrocarbon group in each case]; (n) is an integer selected from 0-3]} and an organoaluminumoxy compound soluble in an aliphatic solvent. This mehtod for producing an olefinic polymer comprises subjecting olefins to homopolymerization or subjecting olefins to copolymerization with other olefins in the presence of a catalyst for olefin polymerization. |
