Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To beat down snow perfectly and easily by a method wherein a single strand, such as a piano wire, a steal wire or the like, is employed as a trapping body to reduce the adhering area of snow. SOLUTION: In a device for falling artificial snow, a single strand, such as a piano wire, a steal wire or the like, is employed as a trapping body for trap, grow and drop the artificial snow. In this case, a piano wire 1, having the diameter of 0.5 mm and the total length of 1 m, is employed to manufacture a trapping body unit 3, in which the piano wire is tensed properly by springs 2 and is arranged with an equal distance in parallel, while a fine wire for impressing static electricity is arranged at the position of 50 cm immediately above the trapping body unit 3 and the voltage of -25 KVDC is impressed to form an electric field. The room temperature of a snow making chamber is retained at -15 deg.C and water particles are supplied onto the trapping unit 3 through a 2-fluid nozzle, injecting water and air, to trap the water particles. In a case when a single strand, such as a piano wire, a steel wire or the like, is employed as a trapping body, the diameter (d) of the strand within the range of 0 mm<d<=3 mm is optimum since the beat down performance of adhered snow is excellent. |
