Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic double-layer capacitor which is large in capacitance and less deteriorated in capacitance during a long-term service by a method wherein the electronic double-layer capacitor is composed of a pair of polarizable electrodes which contain binding agent formed of polyamide elastomer that accumulates positive and negative charge, a separator, and an organic electrolyte. SOLUTION: A kind of dicarboxylic acid which accumulates positive and negative charge and is represented by a formula, HOO-R -COOH, a kind of diol represented by a formula, HO-R -OH, and reducing clay (1g/deciliter 98% sulfuric acid solution, 20 deg.C) are made to react on 0.5 to 7 deciliter/g polyamide of aromatic nylon such as 4-xnylon, 6,6-nylon to obtain polyester amide. An electric double layer capacitor is composed of a pair of polarizable electrodes 1 which contain binding agent, a separator, and an organic electrolyte, wherein the binding agent is formed of polyamide elastomer where polyester amide contains 5 to 90 wt.% polyamide component.
