Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the number of teeth-bits exchanged by installing a specified bit holder onto a mounting plate projected from the outer circumferential surface of a cutter drum and rotatably holding a conical bit around the axis of a member in the bit holder. SOLUTION: A pair of rotary cutters 12, 12 rotated in the mutually opposite directions are mounted at the lower end of a main-body frame 2 through T- frames 4, and bit holders 15 set up to mounting plates 14 projected from the outer circumferential surfaces of cutter drums 13 are constituted so that conical bits 16 can be held rotatably around the axis of a member. When the conical bits 16 are fitted to such bit holders 15, the cylindrical inserting legs 31 of the conical bits 16 are inserted and penetrated to the inserting holes 21 of the bit holders 15, and falling-preventive rings 34 are inserted into ring grooves 33 formed to the end-section circumferential surfaces of the inserting legs. Since the conical bits 16 are rotated freely around the axis of the member at the time of excavation, wear uniformly progresses slowly on the whole circumference in the vicinity of the front ends of bits, and uneven wear is prevented. |
