PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medicine useful for improvement and prevention of hyperlipemia by making the medicine include essence of a plant of the family Caprifoliaceae. SOLUTION: This medicine is made to contain preferably 0.1-50 wt.% essence of a plant of the family Caprifoliaceae (preferably a plant of the genus Lonicera, especially preferably Lonicera japonica Thunberg). It is preferable that the medicine is administered in a daily dose of 1-100,000 mg/adult in one to several portions. The essence includes a plant body itself, a processed material obtained by drying, finely cutting or pulverizing the plant body, an extract obtained by adding a solvent to the plant body or its processed material and extracting the plant body or its processed material with the solvent, a material obtained by removing the solvent of the extract, purified material, etc., obtained by purifying the extract or a material obtained by removing solvent from the extract with column chromatography, gel filtration, liquid-liquid extraction, etc.
