Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor in which the shake of a non-rotational synchronization component is small, which has a small starting torque, which is usable even in an inverted state and, moreover, which is excellent in impact resistance and whose efficiency is satisfactory. SOLUTION: Relating to a spindle motor device for surface opposition type disk, a damping member 100 is laid between a stator core 34 and a supporting frame 31. Since this device has such a constitution, the vibration energy of the vibration of the stator core 34 which is to be generated by rotor magnets 45 is converted into thermal energy by the damping member 100 and the vibration is damped. As a result, since the noise of a motor is lowered and also a vibration to be transmitted to a mounted disk can be damped, the vibrantion of the disk becomes smaller and the recording density of the disk is enhanced.
