PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the composing quality of a sentence including a character string with agate in a group agate form. SOLUTION: On a document editing stage, a division reserve point is set between characters considered suitable for division by an editor to the master character string and agate character string of a character string with agate in the group agate form. In the case of 'Myogi-san (written in KANJI), for example, positions shot by arrows 1 and 2 are respectively set as the division reserve points to the master character string of 'Myogi-san' (written in KANJI) and the agate character string of 'Myogi-san' (written in KANA). In the line dividing processing of automatic composing, when the agate character string is positioned at the end of a line and further the satisfactory composing result can not be provided even by settling that character string with agate within that line or moving it to the next line, the master character string and the agate character string are divided at the respective division reserve points so that the character string with agate can be divided into two and the line can be divided at the dividing point at that time.
