Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the surface of a curable composition multiused as a dental or surgical coating material composition and using a polymerization initiator containing boron in the molecule with a coating material layer having sufficient surface hardness. SOLUTION: This coating material composition is a coating material composition for applying the surface of a curable composition using a boron-containing polymerization initiator and comprises (A) (meth)acrylate having urethane bond in the molecule, (B) (meth)acrylate having oxyetheylene unit in the molecule, (C) a volatile compound and (D) an α-ketocarbonyl compound and contains 30-80 pts.wt. component A, 5-40 pts.wt. component B, 5-40 pts.wt. component C and 0.01-10 pts.wt. component D in 100 pts.wt. total weight of components A, B, C and D.
