Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately discriminate an exchange period due to expiration of life battery of field equipment that operates with a battery and exchanges a signal with upper equipment outside a figure via an optical fiber transmission line as a field bus without depending on change in the open air temperature and a consumption current, and to transmit the result from upper equipment to a user. SOLUTION: Field equipment 1 has a data table 122 for indicating correlation among consumption current of a battery, a voltage, a temperature, and a consumption capacity, connects a dummy load 113 to a battery output terminal VCC via a switch 112 periodically, sets a battery consumption current to the most excessive value, and measures a battery voltage via an A/D converter 111 and a battery temperature via a temperature sensor 114 simultaneously. And, the life of the battery when the field equipment is under specific strict condition is predicted from the data table 122 using measurement data and the like, and it is judged whether the battery needs to be replaced or not. Then, when it is judged that the battery needs to be replaced, an alarm indicating it is transmitted to upper equipment. |
