Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition that gives the cured products having excellent toughness and resistance to heat and is useful in the sports purposes as golf club shafts and the like, in the aerospace field, in the other industries by using a specific epoxy resin, a toughness-increasing agent and a curing agent. SOLUTION: This epoxy resin composition includes (A) an epoxy resin mixture mainly comprising (i) one or more kinds of an epoxy resins of formula I (n is 0 or more; Y is a 6-20C organic divalent group; X is a structure of formula II; m is 0 or more; Z is -CH2 - or the like) and (ii) a difunctional epoxy resins other than Ai (such as bisphenol A epoxy resin or the like) and (B) a granular toughness-increasing agent such as core shell rubber particles and (C) a curing agent such as dicyandiamide. In a preferred embodiment, the amount of the component Ai is 5-50 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the component A, the total of the component Ai and the component Aii is 70-100 pts.wt., while the amount of the component B is 1-20 pts.wt. As a component Ai, is cited a reaction product between a bis-phenol A type epoxy resin and tolylene diisocyanate or the like. |
