Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader with superior reading accuracy. SOLUTION: A wire 17 is tensed between a scanning optical section and a follower pulley 19, and the wire 17 is wound in spiral on a driving pulley 16 provided between the scanning optical section and the follower pulley 19. On the other hand, a driving means 12 drives the driving pulley 16 to wind up the wire 17. Then the scanning optical section is moved parallel, while being followed by the follower pulley 19 to read an image on a sheet plated on a platen glass. A spiral groove 21 is formed to a turning shaft 20 of the follower pulley 19 and a projection entering the spiral groove 21 is formed to the follower pulley 19 respectively. When the follower pulley 19 is turned as the driving pulley 16 is driven, the follower pulley 19 is moved in a thrust direction by a thrust force exerted from the spiral groove 21 to the projection to make a wire angle between the follower pulley 19 and the driving pulley 16 constant. |
