Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine-texture material with a C surface oriented in one direction, while no powder process is comprised and the effect of oxygen is avoided by working a material of such composition as C-surface direction aligned in one direction, so that shearing force is applied in one direction. SOLUTION: A raw material 1 of thermoelectric material having composition comprising a kind of element selected among a group comprising Bi and Sb, and a kind of element selected among a group comprising The and Se, are extruded in longitudinal direction of the raw material 1 with a dice 2. Then, the raw material 1 at extrusion process is heated and softened by a heater 4 to such level so that no thermoelectric material 3 re-crystallizes, for a C- surface direction to be aligned in one direction. With the C-surface direction aligned in one direction, working is so done as to apply a shearing force in one direction for finer crystal particles. Thus, no powder process is contained to avoid effect of oxygen, resulting in enhanced performance index.
