Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent misdetection caused by detouring waves. SOLUTION: A signal including a detouring component received by a receiving sensor 12 and a reflected component from a body is supplied to a detour canceling circuit 20 through a receiving circuit 18. The detour canceling circuit 20 compares a received signal with a reference signal by using a comparator to remove the detouring component. The pulse width of the reference signal is supplied to a control circuit 22 and it is larger than that supplied to a pulse transmitting circuit 16. Consequently, the detouring component which arrives with a time delay is removed so as to output only the reflected component.
