Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve plating adhesion and to obtain excellent corrosion resistance, formability, weldability, etc., by applying electroplating to a metal sheet by the use of an electrogalvanizing bath containing a Co supply source and dextrin, melting specific amount of plating film of initial plating, and then continuing plating. SOLUTION: A cold rolled steel sheet is electroplated in an electrogalvanizing bath containing a Co supply source and dextrin or dextran of >=10 number- average molecular weight, by which a composite zinc alloy plating film, containing 0.01-10 wt.% high molecular weight organic matter consisting of C, O, and H and 0.01-10% Co, is formed at least on one side of the steel sheet at 5 to 100 g/m coating weight. At the time of this electroplating, electrification is temporarily stopped after initial plating and the resultant plating film is naturally melted by the amount of (0.05 to 0.5) g/m , by which Co-enriched micro-ruggedness is formed at the surface. After that, plating is further continued until prescribed coating weight is reached. By this method, the composite zinc alloy plated steel sheet excellent in plating adhesion can be obtained.
