Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and highly reliable aluminum electrolytic capacitor, on which leakage of an electrolyte in hot and humid surroundings can be prevented easily without using a specific butyl rubber hole-sealing material, in a highly mass-productive manner. SOLUTION: One or more kinds of metals, which are selected from titanium, zirconium, tantal, niobium, zinc, bismuth and their metallic compound in the range of 0.01% or more in total content are contained in the bulk of aluminum foil used for the cathode which constitutes a capacitor element 3. Also, the natural potential in the electrolyte of the aluminum foil to be used for the cathode should be set at 0.50 V or higher against the potential of a saturation calomel electrode. |
