Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain fast screen display without requiring any data processing on a video image side by providing a transmission area for an image of an upper layer side and displaying an image of a lower layer side through the transmission area. SOLUTION: An image of an upper layer side is provided with a transmission area and an image if a lower layer side is displayed through the transmission area. Namely, this display method previously sets the transmission area 52 through which video image is displayed on a still image 24. And of the video image is superimposed on the still image 24, a specific part 44a in the video image is given priority for the display of the transmission area 52 and the still image 24 is preferentially displayed for other areas, so that part 44a of the video image is displayed on the still image 24 by transmission. Here, the transmission area 52 set on the still image 24 needs to be painted in a color which is not used to display a useful part on the still image 24.
