Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold the data head of which disk is rotating to the condition positioned to the track by combining a plurality of periodic signals from development of variation in the radius direction and then forming a position compensating signal showing good approximating to variation in the radius direction of track distortion. SOLUTION: A plurality of harmonics compensators 520 perform realtime compensation and a servo compensator 510 forecasts periodical radius variation to compensate for the greater part of random variation source in the radius direction. The harmonics compnesators 521 to 523 analyze radius direction variation of track center line calculated from PES 505 and position signal 535, compares amplitude and phase of each item of the Fourier expansion of PES 505 and generates the since wave signal having amplitude, phase and frequency depending on the corresponding harmonics. A gain adjustment unit 524 adjusts the gain as a result of combining of the sine wave signals from the compensators 521 to 523 and the signal obtained is more matched with periodical variation of track radius direction than the sine wave or cosine wave.
