Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic compsn. which can be used for producing molded articles (esp. sheets) for light waveguide channels or light-scattering apparatus by incorporating a specified amt. of polyamide particles having specified particles sizes into a compsn. based on a clear thermoplastic material. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic compsn. for light-scattering molded articles is based on a clear thermoplastic material [e.g. a (meth)acrylic (co)polymer, polycarbonate, polystyrene, or (glycol-modified) polyethylene telephthalate] and contains 20-1,000 ppm (based on the compsn.) polyamide particles having an average particles size of 0.4-200 μm. Pref., the polyamide particles have such a narrow particles size distribution that 90% or higher of the particles are in the range of 2.5-10 μm. Pref., the compsn. contains 100-200 ppm polyamide particles. A polyamide prepd. from a lactam, from an amino acid, or from a diamine and a dicarboxylic acid can be used. The compsn. can be prepd. by blending with a Brabender-type mixer, a screw extruder, etc.
