Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the reinforcement effect by fitting the mouth piece to an end part of a paper tube, in particular, the excellent effect in the improvement of the torque strength of the paper tube by providing a punching head having no pointed part and/or no edge part of acute angle, but having a punch with a head part of smooth surface on the whole. SOLUTION: A punching head 1 is inserted in a mouth piece which is fitted to an end part of a paper tube with its spindle 6 retracted to the right so as to cover an inner wall from its end face, and the spindle 6 of the punching head 1 is advanced to the left. Plural space blocks 3 and a press plate 5 are expanded outwardly from their inner side, and a mouth piece body part is pushed into a wall of the paper tube while the mouth piece body part is plastically deformed from its inner side to the inner wall side of the paper tube to form a mouth piece fitting projection. At the same time, the whole mouth piece is fixed to the end part of the paper tube by plastically deforming a tip part of the cylindrical body part of the mouth piece by the press plate 5 and pressing into the wall of the paper tube. When the fixing work is completed, the spindle 6 is retracted to the right, and the whole punching head 1 is pulled out.
