Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permanently maintain the stability of a structure by erecting sets of two diagonal piles in the sea in opposite directions by 180 deg., and constructing the structure on the artificial ground rigidly connected to pile head sections via base isolation devices. SOLUTION: Sets of two diagonal piles 1 inclined within the resistible range to the horizontal force of an earthquake are erected in the sea water 5 symmetrically in opposite directions by 180 deg. on the plan view so that pile head sections are located at a considerably high position from the sea bottom and the sea surface. Artificial ground 3 is directly supported by the pile head sections of the diagonal piles 1, and they are integrated by cast-in-place concrete. Multiple base isolation devices 2 made of laminated rubber and a vibration damping damper are installed at prescribed intervals on the artificial ground 3, and a structure 4 is constructed on the base isolation devices 2. The horizontal force such as seismic force applied to the diagonal piles 1 is uniformly distributed, a specific diagonal pile 1 is not damaged, and the stability of the structure 4 is permanently maintained. The work on the wide artificial ground 3 is excellent in safety, workability, and economical efficiency.
