Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the subject activity, e.g. enzyme activity and hemolytic activity, in a highly sensitive way, by treating a specimen with a pure substrate highly sensitive to protease and having detectable biological activity, then, detecting changes in the biological activity of the substrate. SOLUTION: This method comprises treating a specimen with a practically pure substrate highly sensitive to protease and having an enzyme activity, e.g. glycerol-3-phosphate oxidase activity or ascorbate oxidase activity or hemolytic activity, e.g. streptolysin O hemolytic activity as a detectable biological activity, then, detecting changes in the biological activity of the substrate and thereby, detecting the objective protease activity usable for detecting, e.g. proteases in a specimen, e.g. biological components and, contaminant protease in the specimen. |
