Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly specify a desired area by specifying a part of the area in an image in accordance with indicating information for the image compressed by a compressing means and the optional area after the image is inputted through the use of an image input means so as to be processed by means of fine line conversion. SOLUTION: K data and RGB data are stored in a memory 305 and an area setting part 307 sets prescribed data in an address corresponding to an editing area and a specified image element based on the contents of the memory 305. A data converting part 308 starts reading data from the memory 305 and executes the inverse transformation processing of a data transforming part 304. An extension processing part 309 executes an extension processing such as an interpolating processing, etc., as against the image which is outputted from the memory 305. When black is inputted to an area signal generating circuit 212, an area signal outputted from an interpolation processing part 310 is masked. The image element during a processing is outputted to an editing object or respective parts by the synchronization with the image which is read by a scanning operation.
