Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a camera in an impossible state to photograph with an easy operation by collapsing a lens barrel when a lens cover is attached to the front side of the camera main body. SOLUTION: When it is recognized by a CPU in a camera main body that the terminal of a card functioning also as a lens cover is inserted into a prescribed insertion hole on the front side of the main body in the state that the camera is in a photographing possible state and a lens barrel is kept extending (step S4), the following sequences are executed under the control of the CPU; it is judged whether a film is in operation of feeding (step S5), in the case that the film is in operation of feeding, the film feeding operation is stopped once (step S6), the lens barrel is extended and driven to a collapsed position (step S7), thereafter, the film feeding operation is started again (step S9) and then, the camera is made in an impossible state to photograph.
