Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonized membrane for gas separation having an excellent gas separating function by forming a cardo type polymer having a specified structure unit having a specified formula into a specified separation membrane shape to give a separation membrane precursor and heating and carbonizing the separation membrane precursor in anaerobic atmosphere. SOLUTION: This carbonized membrane for gas separation is produced by producing separation membrane precursor by forming a cardo type polymer into a prescribed separation membrane shape and heating and carbonizing the obtained separation membrane precursor in an anaerobic atmosphere. The cardo type polymer used for producing the carbonized membrane has at least one type of structural monomers selected from polyester structure monomers, polycarbonate structure monomers, polyether structure monomers, polyamide structure monomers, and polyimide structure monomers respectively having the formula I, the formula II, the formula III, the formula IV, and the formula V wherein Y1 , Y2 , Y3 , and Y4 represent divalent organic residue groups, Y5 represents tetravalent organic residue groups, and X represents divalent organic residue groups which at least partly contain the divalent organic residue groups having the formula VI. |
