Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the purification of a diurethane by distilling in the presence of a specific alcohol. SOLUTION: One or more kinds of diurethanes expressed by the formula [R is a 4-10C (substituted)aromatic, araliphatic, alicyclic or aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R is a 1-6C alkyl or a 5-6C alicyclic hydrocarbon group] [e.g. N,N'- m-phenylene-bis (o-butylurethane)] are distilled in the presence of one or more kinds of low-boiling alcohols of the formula R3 OH (R is a 1-6C alkyl or a 5-6C alicyclic hydrocarbon group) (e.g. methanol). Preferably, the weight ratio of the alcohol to the diurethane is set to about (0.01-500):1 and the distillation is carried out at a temp. of about 100-350 deg.C under a pressure of about 0.01-200mbar.
