Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erroneous cutoff of gas supply in a gas instrument having the large gas flow rate such as a GHP(gas-engine heat pump) without uniformly extending a safe continuous using time. SOLUTION: The safe continuous using times, which allow the continuous use for the respective gas-flow-rate divisions that are divided into a plurality of sections and become short stepwise when the gas flow rate become large, are set. The increase and decrease of the gas flow rate is detected. Whether the use of the increased gas flow rate or the use of the maximum gas flow rate among the remaining gas flow rates exceeds the safe continuous using time in correspondence with the gas-flow-rate division in use or not is monitored. When the cutoff of the gas supply is performed by this way when the exceeding is detected, the safe continuos using time of the specified gas-flow-rate division among a plurality of above described gas-flow-rate division is set so that this using time is longer than the safe continuous using time of the division of the gas flow rate that is smaller than the gas flow rate of the above described specified gas-flow-rate division.
