Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain an operating state of a rear wheel brake under utilization of a brake cable during a parking condition in a brake device for a vehicle in which a hydraulic actuater is operated with an output hydraulic pressure of a master cylinder, its working force is transmitted to a mechanical rear wheel brake through the brake cable and the brake is operated. SOLUTION: A hydraulic actuater is provided with an operating piston 25 operated with output hydraulic pressure of a master cylinder and an output lever 13 for cooperatively connecting between the operating piston 25 and a brake cable 14. A parking mechanism P capable of locking the output lever 13 at its operating position is arranged between this output lever 13 and a fixed base plate 20 for journally supporting the output lever 13.
