Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protruding part cover for a railway car which makes it possible to reduce aerodynamic noise arising from the top part of a cover when positioned in the rear in the forward direction. SOLUTION: When a first cover part 12 comes front in the forward direction, a first flexible part 16 sticks to a first edge-shape solid part 13 so that a boundary between a first lifting surface 17 and a first inside surface 18 forms an edge shape, while a second flexible part 26 swells so that the one between a second lifting part 27 and a second inside surface 28 forms a curve shape. Because of this structure, the first lifting surface 17 lifts running wind above a pantograph 4, causing it to hit against around the boundary between the second lifting surface 27 and the second inside surface 28. However, no aerodynamic noise is caused to occur because this boundary is of the curve shape. When a second cover part 22 comes front in the forward direction, on the contrary, the boundary between the first lifting surface 17 and the first inside surface 18 becomes the curve shape, while the one between the second lifting part 27 and the second inside surface 28 becomes the edge shape. As in the case above, no aerodynamic noise is caused to occur, either.
