Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the charge and discharge cycle performance of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery by providing binder resin having good adhesion to collector metal. SOLUTION: A battery is provided with a negative electrode in which a negative electrode mixture comprising negative electrode active material and a binder are held by a negative electrode collector, a positive electrode in which a positive electrode mixture comprising positive electrode active material, a conductive agent, and the binder are held by a positive electrode collector, and nonaqueous electrolyte. Fluorine-containing copolymer obtained by copolymerizing vinylidene fluoride, chlorotrifluoroethylene, and a monomer simultaneously containing double bonds and peroxy radicals in molecules, or the fluorine-containing copolymer is used as a stem resin. The peroxy radicals contained in the stem resin are cloven, and olefin is grafting polymerized as branch resin so as to obtain graft copolymer resin. This resin is used as the binder.
