Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently adsorb away releasing factors derived from the blood cells activated by contact with foreign matter by bringing the blood contg. these releasing factors into direct contact with a water-insoluble carrier immobilized with a polyanion compd. SOLUTION: A polymer hard gel having pressure resistance and having pores of relatively large diameters is used as the water-insoluble carrier and the polyanionic compd. is immobilized thereto. For example, heparin, dextran sulfate, etc., or salts, such as their potassium salt and sodium salt, having plural anionic functional groups within one molecule are used as the polyanionic compd. Known methods, i.e., physical adsorption method, ion bonding method, covalent bonding method, etc., are used as the immobilization method. The covalent bonding method is preferable for preventing the desorption of ligand at the time of sterilization or under treatment when the adsorber, etc., are used for the treatment.
