Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellular component such as nucleic acid useful for a molecular biological process by stirring disintegrated cell specimen in the presence of particles and separating nucleic acid from the other cellular components, thereby enabling the separation of the cellular component such as nucleic acid from the other cellular components such as cellular protein having affinity to nucleic acid even after the dissolution of the cell. SOLUTION: A specimen containing cellular components originated from disintegrated cell is stirred in the presence of particles (spherical particles of glass, plastics, sand, silicate or latex or containing metal or metal oxide of zirconium, etc., having a maximum width of <=0.5mm, preferably about 0.1-0.15mm) to separate nucleic acid from the other cellular components. Heating operations, etc., matching the disintegration of cell may be performed simultaneously or partly simultaneously with the stirring operation.
