Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the recording density without lowering reliability by providing a terminal sagging part in the lowest end part of a magnetic head near the magnetic disc at the time when the magnetic head is in a posture for wiring or reading information while it is inclined to the magnetic disc. SOLUTION: The terminal sagging part 10 is generated at the end part of the floating surface 9 of a magnetic head 1 by polishing the tape of using soft surface. Next, the floating surface 9 is polished by a processing method resulting in generate of a small amount of terminal agging to eliminate the polishing margin 11 for adjusting sagging width. When a shape curve 12 obtained at the terminal sagging part 10 is expressed as y=f(x) at the cross-section of the magnetic head 4 passing a head element 5 which is cut at the plane parallel to the relative movement direction for the magnetic disc and is vertical to the surface of the magnetic disc, it can be expressed approximately by any one of the formula 1 or 2. Here, A, B and C are constant. Therefore, the terminal sagging part 10 can easily be generated in a large number and an impact generated during contact with the magnetic disc becomes small and thereby a trouble is not easily generated. |
