Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve alkaline resistance and durability by providing the surfaces of the granulated matter obtd. by granulating glass powder with alkaline resistant surface materials and firing the granulated matter. SOLUTION: Cullet formed by primary crushing of recovered waste glass is supplied to a pulverizing machine 3 through an accepting hopper 1 and a tank 2 and is pulverized to a Blaine's value of 3000 to 3300cm /g and, thereafter, the pulverized cullet is sent to a raw material tank 5 through a bag filter 4. Next, 100 pts.wt. cullet, 5 to 35 pts.wt. clayey powder in the raw material tank 6 and 0.01 to 5 pts.wt. foamed material powder are sent to a premixture and are mixed. The mixture is then granulated by a granulating machine 7 to obtain the granulated matter having a diameter of 0.03 to 10mm. This granulated matter is sent through a rotary drier 8 and a storage tank 8 to a covering machine 9 where the granulated matter is coated with the alkaline resistant surface materials of a grain size of 0.01 to 3μm at 1 to 10 pts.wt. with 100 pts.wt. granulated matter and, thereafter, the granulated matter is supplied to an external heat type rotary kiln 10 where the granulated matter is fired at 800 to 900 deg.C. The granulated matter is then slowly cooled by an externally water cooled rotary cooler 11. |
