Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a lump-like protruded shape and facilitate execution by pressing and moving opposite upset welding electrodes into contact with each other, and extruding the fused metal of an upset weld section from between the electrodes for weld connection. SOLUTION: Shear reinforcing bars 2a, 2b are firmly held by upset welding electrodes 1a, 1b, the tips are butted and pressed together, an upset welding current is carried between the electrodes 1a, 1b, and the contact section 3 of the shear reinforcing bars 2a, 2b is heated and fused. The electrodes 1a, 1b are strongly pressed and upset until the tips of the electrodes 1a, 1b are brought into contact with each other, and the tips of the electrodes 1a, 1b extrude the excess fused steel to the periphery at the contact section 4 of the shear reinforcing bars 2a, 2b. When the electrodes 1a, 1b are removed, the shear reinforcing bars 2a, 2b are firmly connected at the weld section 4, the extruded metals 5 are connected at fine constriction neck sections on the periphery, and they can be simply falled out by a hammer. The assembling execution of reinforcing bars can be facilitated.
