Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the print quality by enlarging the range of diameter of droplet being jetted through an orifice. SOLUTION: The space surrounded by the housing 3, the diaphragm 4 and the orifice plate 5 having a plurality of orifices 8 of the head 2 for an ink jet printer serves as a channel 7 for holding ink 6. When a voltage is applied between the diaphragm 4 and a piezoelectric member 9, the diaphragm 4 is deformed to cause volumetric variation of the channel 7. The ink jet printer comprises two head units which are identical to the head 2 except the length of the channel 7 and the arrangement of the orifice 8.
