Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for efficiently manufacturing a soundproof material with excellent operability by simplifying the steps as compared with a conventional manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a soundproof material comprises the steps of coating a feeding releasable endless belt with sound insulation composition containing 10 to 50 wt.% of amorphous poly-α-olefin heated to be melted so that a melt viscosity at 190 deg.C of amorphous poly-α-olefin becomes 200 to 20,000 centipoise and 50 to 90 wt.% of inorganic filler, laminating a sound absorber on the coated surface, then cooling the obtained laminate preferably to 40 deg.C or lower to solidify the composition, and releasing it from the belt.
