Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To providing a masking tape for coating vehicles having such well balanced performance that water resistance, heat resistance and peeling resistance are excellent, the remaining of adhesives on an adhered and the contamination thereof are obviated, the tape has sufficient tacky adhesive power at ordinary temp., overlap stickability is excellent and there is no degradation in the tacky adhesive power even at a high temp. and the overlap stickability is excellent and a masker for coating vehicle by using this tape. SOLUTION: The one surface of a base of this tape is provided with a layer of one-pack type acrylic emulsion based pressure sensitive adhesive obtd. by subjecting a monomer mixture consisting of (A) 85 to 98.9 wt.% alkyl ester acrylate of 4 to 12C of an alkyl group and/or alkyl ester methacrylate of 4 to 18C in the alkyl group, (B) 1 to 10 wt.% acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile and (C) 0.1 to 5 wt.% α, β unsatd. carboxylic acid or the monomer mixture prepd. by compounding a monomer copolymerizable with these components at the rate not exceeding 40 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. this monomer mixture to emulsion polymn. in the presence of the anionic reactive emulsifier.
