Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of using it by switching a fan operation for performing electric discharging dust collection and U.V. ray sterilization to an ionic wind operation for performing electric discharging dust collection of quiet sound and power saving. SOLUTION: This device is provided with electric discharging dust collection units 4, 5, a U.V. ray lamp unit 6 arranging a U.V. ray lamp 61 in a ventilation path formed with shielding plates 62, a fan 7 for ventilating to the respective units and also is provided with a ventilation path switching means for switching a first ventilation path formed with the shielding plates to a second ventilation path 67 low in a pressure drop, formed by closing the first ventilation path. Also this device can switch a fan operation for switching the ventilation path to the first ventilation path and for performing by driving the electric discharging dust collection units 4, 5, the U.V. ray lamp unit 6 and the fan 7 to an ionic wind operation for switching the ventilation path to the second ventilation path 67, for performing by driving the electric discharging dust collection units 4, 5 and for performing by utilizing the ionic wind generated by the electric discharge.
