Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative plywood for a building material having satisfactory adhesive properties between a surface layer and a lower layer and a scarcely damaging surface. SOLUTION: The decorative plywood for a building material comprises a sliced veneer obtained by cutting natural wood in a thin sheet-like state, and a plywood laminated via a prepreg. In this case, the prepreg sheet has nonwoven fabric made of assembly of fiber having a fiber section in which a flat sectional shape having 3 or more of a ratio of a long axis to short axis of the fiber section and a mean angle of the long axis to the nonwoven fabric sheet surface is 15 degrees or less, and thermosetting resin of semicured sate contained in the nonwoven fabric sheet.
