Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable oxidizing decomposition of imidazolidinone base compounds at a relative low temperature by adding hydrogen peroxide into water containing imidazolidinone base compound to contact it with a noble metal carrying catalyst. SOLUTION: In the case that water containing imidazolidinone base compound produced when 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone is used as reaction solvent is treated, three reactors 3, 4, 5 connected in series are used. That is, water containing the imidazolidinone base compound is put in an adjusting tank 1 and is agitated after adding hydrogen peroxide. Next, water containing the imidazolidinone base compound to which hydrogen peroxide has been added is sent to the reactor 3 by a pump and is contacted with a catalyst carrying noble metal under heating to subject the imidazolidinone base compounds to oxidizing decomposition. Next, water that has flowed out from the reactor 3 is sent to the reactor 4 after adding hydrogen peroxide, and furthermore, water that has flowed out from the reactor 4 is sent to the reactor 5 after adding hydrogen peroxide, and water that has flowed out from the reactor 5 is made final treated water. |
