Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a thermal transfer recording medium of superior productivity and print quality. SOLUTION: In a method for producing a thermal transfer recording medium in which a thermal transfer ink layer is set at one face of a supporting body and a heat-proof lubricating layer is formed at the other face of the supporting body, a paint for forming the thermal transfer ink layer is applied on the one face of the supporting body, and a paint for forming the heat-proof lubricating layer is applied on the other face of the supporting body. Both paints are dried while wet.
