Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a panorama image without a sense of incongruity against a change in an image pickup condition. SOLUTION: A video signal from an image pickup device 10 as an image pickup means is fed to a video capture board 31 of a computer 30. A magnification lens of a lens block section 11 is driven by a drive instruction from a camera controller 41. The image pickup device 10 is installed on a universal head 50, and driven in each direction by a drive instruction from a pan/tilt controller 43. A mode controller 42 controls the image pickup device 10 and the universal head 50 with respect to an absolute position drive request from the computer 30. The computer 30 is provided with a storage device 32, an image processing unit 33 and a controller 34, video signal processing and the control to generate a panorama image is conducted by the devices above and in the case of storing the video signal to the storage device 32, various image pickup conditions such as image pickup time, exposure and white balance are added and stored.
